About Jamestown, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Jamestown is the county seat of Russell County, Kentucky, and it is home to about 1,600 residents. This community was originally established in 1826 as Jacksonville in honor of Andrew Jackson, but the name was later changed for local landowner James Wooldridge. This town considers itself a family-oriented community and one of the best small towns for raising children. Jamestown is located about 96 miles east of Bowling Green, KY and 125 miles southeast of Louisville.

Jamestown is home to a variety of attractions and interesting things to do. Lake Cumberland is one of the most prominent attractions in the area, offering recreational boating and fishing opportunities. Fishing enthusiasts might like to check out the many fishing guide services in the area, while other outdoor enthusiasts might prefer to visit the Jake Glover Riding Stables or Foggy Bottom Campground and Wolf Creek Outfitters. Other notable attractions in the area include the Kentucky Pedal and Paddle and the Jamestown Resort and Marina.

Jamestown is located in a humid subtropical climate zone. Summers in Jamestown are humid and quite hot, with average highs reaching the upper 80s, on average. However, temperatures exceeding 90 degrees are entirely common, and muggy conditions can make it feel even warmer. To best enjoy this potentially uncomfortable season, residents should have their central air conditioning units serviced regularly to ensure they will work properly when needed.

Due to being situated in a humid subtropical climate zone, winters in Jamestown tend to be more pleasant than other parts of the country, as conditions are mild to cool. However, overnight lows do tend to fall below the freezing point, so when rain and other precipitation work their way into the area, freezing conditions may result. If you are stuck indoors, you will feel extremely fortunate to have a reliable and energy efficient heat pump or furnace in place.
